I posted the other day I was going hunting for the first time in two years so here is the fallow up. My uncle got a nice shooting house over looking some food plots so I went there. Nothing in the morning and right as the sun was going down a doe stepped out and was nibbling around. So as season was almost over and I was out of meat I took the shot.. clean kill. BUT let me tell you all something I never thought about till after the fact. If you are shooting a large bore gun with a muzzle break from a shooting house you better wear hearing protection!!!!! My right ear is fine but the left is still kinda ringing and I thought my eyeballs was gonna pop out. Also my muzzle break is a V pattern and this was also the first time I ever shot it in low light and I have to say WOW it was impressive lol Looked like a top fuel dragster for a second.

SO moral of the story, if you a running a break be aware of your surroundings and how it will contain/deflect the sound back at you.

The one on my 4" s&w mountain gun is brutal on ears too. It is a Magnaport. The flames of the muzzle blast through the ports are most impressive as well. Thinking about having Gary put a 6" un-ported barrell on it for me.

was belly crawling through the tall grass

over at the canyon on a HHC hunt trying to get closer to a water buffalo with my 476GNR encore pistol. 15" with brake, when i squeezed the trigger with the Barrel 6" off the ground, I was deaf and blind for about 5 seconds. then, finely,i could see again.my ears rang (more than normal) for 3 days. will never again shoot a gun with a brake, with out hearing protection. Its funny now, but felt like dumb shit then!

I squeezed off a carbine in a ground blind

While wearing ear plugs. No issues with the sound but the whole ground blind swelled and lifted off the ground on the shot. Brake or not, the muzzle needs to be outside the fabric.
