I ran across a picture that took me back a ways. I fell into a trade for a Polish Radom long ago. Mine had no safety, just the "de-cocker". It was 9mm and felt very 1911'ish. But it wasn't. To date it was the most shootable and accurate 9mm handgun I've ever fired. Back then I made a cool $100 profit at a fraction of today's value.

Another was the Ballester Molina .45 ACP. Back years ago they got down to $100 dealer cost, so I tried one. Sold it for 3X that and wish I had it back! I think I found some 1911 mags that ran well in it.

There are many interesting Star autos. I had several including a PD .45 and BM 9mm, both excellent. High cost of extra magazines are the only fly in the ointment. I've always wanted to try one of the bigger 9's, maybe the 9X21 etc. Just for discussion...

WOULD LIKE TO FIND ALL OF THESE

a big 1911 looking copy with an ugly full length rib made into the top of the slide. I think sights were adj. too, back when that was a big deal. I cut my thumb on the underside of the slide and bled everwhere. That was the end of my Llama searching. I've always wanted one of their mini-.380's, maybe I'll revisit them soon.

Worked in a gun shop that had a Llama 380 in the safe

for years. No one even looked at it in its faux red velvet lined box. Same for a Mauser Hsc and a Colt Diamondback...poopoo...it wasn’t a Python. If I knew then.....

I've one of those

In 38 Super. It has taken a lot of screwing with to get it to shoot right. When I first got it it would eject the spent casings right between your eyes; talk about distracting! Some judicious work with a file and a set of Wolff springs has solved that little issue. It shoots pretty well now. I am very careful reloading for it since the case head isn't fully supported. Starline brass is a bit thicker in the web area so that is all I use in mine.
