I have to get off my dead ass and decide what 3 guns I am

taking to Africa. I hope to get down to Phoenix next week to the U.S. Customs office and get them registered. The problem is I have no idea yet which ones I will take.

If I decide to have a talk with a Cape Buff, then the 3 will the 430 GNR revolver with an idiotic 8" barrel, the Ult. Encore in 416 GNR and the Ult. Encore in 378 GNR. I will probably go ahead and take 4 or 5 down there with me and register all of them on the customs sheet, then pick out the 3 best within a week or so after that. We have to mail the paperwork to Air2000, in Africa, the folks that get our permits for us. For handguns that normally takes 45 days to do, plus overnight mail to South Africa takes 10 days, so time is running short on us.

This being a whole new area I am not sure how the shots will be, close and quick or longer and take my time. In Rooiport where we have hunted numerous times I know how the hunt would be, 25 yards or less with a highly pissed off buff with me on his shit list.

I want to try the 410 GNR on a buff but not sure if John will let me. The 41 GNR has worked on so many 1500 lb animals that I wouldn't feel undergunned with it but the 410 GNR would be a better choice. I took the African Savannah buff with the 410 GNR in a revolver with one shot, so the more powerful Encore should be fine.

If John nixes the 410 GNR then the 411 GNR or 430 GNR would be next on the list. If the shots are longer, 50 yards or so, then the 378 GNR would be the gun of choice. Decisions decisions.
