Celebrity Handgun Hunt and we sat and talked about Contenders for a good while one evening. Ernie was head of the TC custom shop at the time, way before the S&W buy out. He mentioned that any frame under 270,000 would not be compatible with the newer barrels and the barrels would have to be fit. Yours is just a bit under that serial number so maybe. If it doesn't work, you know where you can send it to have it fit.
