The Puffy hole in me still hurts, a lot...

He and I had our ups and downs, all my fault. For several months before he passed we had some very meaningful phone conversations. Hunted together at the Oct. 2016 HHC with the wife and family (son Wade & grandson Ty).

We both had changed over the last 14 years.

He was a combat Marine, my service in the Corps was peacetime, but still had that bond.

To say I miss him doesn't do it. Everytime I get on the forum I expect to read some of his posts, wise cracks, perversions (fake of course), etc. Might be why just writing this gives me that empty feeling...

See you in the next life Jason!

There seems to be a void

when a good friend or close family member passes to the next life. It is hard, at times, to fill it in and make some meaning. I wish I could offer some kind of wisdom but sadly it escapes me.

Your tittle would be too tempting for Jason

Of all guys lost that I remember, Jason's passing was the most shocking. Eric's too since we all were just together at HHC in TN. Jason was having a devil of a time with his knee recovery and being less active he complained about eating too much. Those things combined to do him in. Eric obviously didn't feel well there either. Never thought they both were short. I remember and focus on the smiles and laughter.
