10mm bullets

I shoot 200 gr. and 230 gr. FNGC. In both 10mm and .38-40 and .401 GNR. Where it can be used I oad the lead bullets in .40 S&W cases but to 10mm OAL and full 10mm charges. Saves the more expensive brass.

I get 1400 fps from the 200 and have hit 1300 with the 230 from a 6" 10mm barrel using Long Shot. However it is a hot load in my special prep gun. Backing off 100 on both weights is probably just as effective and a lot easier on equipment. But for hairy carry...

custom gunsmith responsible for bringing back the 10mm. He started building the 10mm longslides well before any of the other 1911 custom guys with his Ultimate 10. We did a lot of testing on the 10mm and Blue Dot beat all the rest. The main load was 11 grains of Blue Dot for the 180 grain JHP with the Federal large pistol primer which gave us 1300 fps in a longslide. That was the max load and flattened primers pretty good so start at 9 grains and ease up. Kase took several big 300 lb hogs with it at a couple of our handgun hunts.
