GPS question

And they were all good. I currently have a model 64 that works great. My son and his son have the Rinos which have a radio in the and is nice because it shows where his son is at all times when they are hunting separately. I think a person needs to do some research and figure out what they need, if all you need is a simple GPS, one of the lower cost ones may be all you need. I like the Garmins, but I don’t have any experience with the othe brands.

680 Gamin Montana is absolutely perfect for hunting and then you have it for other things. I used the 600 for 3 years and couldnt imagine life without it. I “upgraded” to the 680 and while it is faster and slightly better battery life it was an upgrade that wasnt needed. Of course others will chime in and bash it because of the price and I really dont care. I like stuf that works as I need it to and I prefer quality over quantity!

I have had a bunch of GPS over the years. Don’t use any of them any more. Just get a GPS app for your smart phone. And it will work anywhere in the world with out cell coverage. Works for topo and roads. I had no cell service in Ireland and used my phone for driving. Drove 1200 miles in a week got turn by turn instructor. It never failed “SYGIC WORLD” app for driving can download maps for any country or state as you need it. it’s like $10.
For topo I use topo by Trailbehind inc. it too is cheep like $10 load any topo map you need as you need it. I don’t like to carry an extra device or keep it charged too. You are going to have the smart phone with you anyway just use it. Just my $.02
