Gary, is a visit to the north rim of the grand canyon worth the drive? It seems to be one of those places you can't get to from here.

I prefer the north rim, more scenic and generally less crowded. JMO

There is a lodge/restaurant/ bar.
Don't plan on staying the night there it's usually booked well in advance.
Early arrival is best to avoid some park entry lines and find good parking.
I saw plenty of wildlife every time I went.
Plan on doing some walking and bring water,

thinking of doing an RV trip from Pa out thru the west and plan on seeing this area. Hopefully, this year. My 32' C-class RV is fully self contained and I can be off the grid for a bit if necessary.

If I find out anything interesting I will let you know. I have a 35 foot Jayco Seneca super C that is like yours. I am going to Texas in June and then on up to the panhandle. Later this summer I plan on a western trip starting in Huntsville Alabama and going who knows where! email is e f r y 2 9 8 at g m a i l d o t c o m just remove spaces. My email has changed since I dropped ATT. They were just too high on their costs.

There are campgrounds in the park itself but probably book up in a hurry. You would have to look at next year as this summer is probably booked. There are campgrounds at Jacob Lake, just down the road outside the park entrance and one at Lee's Ferry.

Living in central AZ when we go to the Canyon we go to the North Rim. It's the higher side and way less crowded, take your own water bottle and they have refilling fountains. We fly fish the Lee's Ferry/Marble Canyon section of the Colorado a lot and stay at Cliff Dwellers Lodge. It is a great old lodge with a top notch restaurant and about an hour from the entrance to the park. Watch out for the buffalo.

to the Grand Canyon. It is just not on my bucket list. I lived in Nashville for all of my younger years until around '81 and never felt the need to go to the Grand Ol' Opry. Guess I just didn't have enough cow shit on my boots.
