federal ID attachment on your license, so you must have your passport, a bill addressed to you that you paid, your old license, and horror of horrors, a non-laminated social security card. Hell when I got it 55+ years ago, they said it was as precious as Gold Laminate it.
Now you are a dumb fuck for doing so.
Went to SS office and it was worse than getting on an airplane, two armed guards, a metal detector, no belts nothing in pocket blah, blah, blah, more foreigners and odd languages than you can imagine and then you sit in a bull pen and wait. Also have to have your drivers license to get your new SS card, passport does not matter, old SS card does not matter, Democrats at work. Your taxes at work. The SS website says if I am not a US citizen, I can do it online, thank you for the government stupidity.

I went to the DMV in Olathe, KS, all I took was my SS card, birth certificate, current licence and the renewal card, that was all I needed. They are putting the gold "compliant"star on my new license.
I guess I am just lucky, got the turd of the bunch.

You need a social security card to get your license renewed. Can't be laminated.
You need a driver's license to get your social security card replaced.
What happens if your drivers license is expired?
Are you stuck in some sort of conundrum that keeps you from getting either one?
Also, do we now need a passport to live and drive in the USA?
Isn't a passport for travel outside the US, not within it?
How long will it be before we have to show 7 years of federal taxes paid?

Got right in and right out, had all the necessary paperwork. The first time she took my picture my eyes were closed, she told me to step in front of the camera for another picture, I told her it was fine because I drive with my eyes closed. She found absolutely no humor in that. If she had smiled her face would have cracked.

Haven’t received my new license yet. The temporary license they give you is good for 30 days and that expired on the 15th. Forgot all about it until this post, I guess I’ll be on the phone most of the day finding out where it is.

.. kinda makes me think South Carolina has all their stuff in one sack on this DMV thing. Last time I renewed, I did it online. They mailed my new License to me. When My daughter got her license, the driving school did everything and administered the test. We went to the DMV to get her picture taken. Took us 30 Minutes. Hell, 2 years ago I bought a motorcycle with nothing but a bill of sale. I went to the DMV to see what it took to get the title done. The did the title research and everything right there. And for $30, they expedited the title and printed it right there on the spot. Took about 45 minutes.
