In my defense I was using 300 gr hardcast in my SA ruger 44
After shooting him 12 times in the lungs he continued to stand. I used a 300 H&H to breakdown his front shoulders then only another 5 shots with the 44 to the base of the neck at 2 feet. He died 40 minutes later. Quite the ordeal. Upon autopsy the first shots went thru the lungs and lined up on the spine. The shots to the neck only penetrated 2 inches not reaching bone. Those were the days before I met Gary and thought a 44 mag was bad ass. Lol.
