Just wondering if any 280 GNR owners have compared the 280 with 25-06 ballistics. Looking at it on paper it looks like it should be close in velocity with a slightly heavier projectile. I have a 26" barrel coming that I am gonna use in a carbine encore configuration.

Wow 26” barrel! That will be as handy oil drum.

the 280 GNR has 18% more case capacity than the 25-06

and will equal or beat the 25-06 in any bullet weight. And a 26" barrel is about as useful as tits on a chicken. Cut it to 20" to 22" max and you have a great carbine.

Barrel length, I have a 7GNR in 16" and 23".

Both on G2 frames. I like both but find that I grab the 16" most often. None of the deer that have dropped to the shot knew which barrel I had, but being handy is priceless.

Actuall it is a 16" barrel, fat

Fingers on phone hit the 2 instead of the one. I bought it off the forum here from Rob, 16.25" with a brake. May have to send it in to you to fit it to my frame.

that 16" 7GNR is the perfect carbine for deer size critters.
