Encore Barrel fit

and I will replace it. My gut feeling is it is your frame.The only thing that can cause side to side play is the inner sides of the frame have been taken too far down at the factory allowing the barrel side to side play. That has been the problem all along with the barrels not fitting the frames. The barrels fit some frames but not others. Your best bet is send both the frame and barrel in and we will see if we can fit the barrel better to the frame. The old days of buying barrels and them just dropping on the frame are long gone. These days pretty much every barrel has to be fit to the individual frame. All the other companies that make extra barrels for their guns require this. It is time I guess for TC to do the same.
