Being an Auto Mag fan, I don't care for the matte black Auto Mag. It just seems to be like painting a Corvette matte black. I have used the Auto Mags since the mid 70s and have hunted all over the world with mine and still have them. They are picky about the ammo you feed them and not as reliable as the Grizzly but they sure beat all the rest in looks and killing power. The scoped Auto Mag was the 41 JMP (Jurras Magnum Pistol) when Lee was the main distributor for the Auto Mag. he talked me into the 41 JMP and it became my go to pistol for hunting for the next several years. In fact I copied the basics of the 41 JMP into a revolver round that became the 41 GNR.
in the pic, left to right, 44 Auto Mag, 41 Auto Mag, 357 Auto Mag..

at least the ones I owned had the red tape insert like Millett used on their sights, probably supplied by Millett. I never had any problems with the silver front as the rear was black, which made for good contrast, so fortunately no problems.
I know mine had solid stls. front, rear

I think had a stainless body, don't remember the rear blade. I do remember I couldn't see it well enough. Old S&W and Walthers, Nickel fixed sight guns, I just cant see the sights.
I guess the old trick of lamp black would help me.
I had a lot of Auto Mags thru the years but never saw a

Gary thanks for the engraving you did. Her is picture of the slide on the frame. How did you take pictures with out the glare? If I sent the rear sight could you make it a black sight?

Sharpie and blacken it. When it wears off re-do it. It is stainless so no finish is going to stay on there very well. And yours is a twin sister to one of mine.
