the human eye will never see the difference in any light transmission in the 30mm. Yes it will give more adjustment, but then your back to the 1000 yard shot business again.
Go buy a Nikon 3-9x40. If you really want to get all woozy get the BDC reticle and use the spot-on yardage match on their website to set up your ammo to their stadia hairs out to whatever range that you practice to and can hit at. A couple of my guns I have printed the charts and laminated them to the stock for quick reference as I'm above the average age.

and the one inch tube has 506.71 mm^2 area through the tube. Light gathering is a function of the objective and its lens coatings to match up the transfer function from ambient to the internal lens of the tube. Basically, whichever looks best to your eye. Lots of technoBS about this subject but the 30mm does have a noticeably better light gathering capability at least in my Burris 30 mm vs my Burris one inch tubes. Just my observation and that and $1 might get you a super bowl ticket.....
My opinion FWIW is 1” on walking hunters and 30mm on bench
