Reeder Custom Guns - I think I'm going to try one of those Skinner sights

on my Big-bore 94 .375. I just can't see the front and rear sights at the same time. Plus the old traditional semi-buckhorn blocks so much that you might need to see. I really like the old traitional Lyman and Williams receiver sights, but they are blocky, but for the long sight radius.

The prices are about the same figuring you also need a "filler" for the rear sight dovetail. The Skinner I was looking at replaces the rear sight, solves two problems at one. But it cuts sight radius in half too. They have one more model that is really sweet, double the price, and requires to holes drilled and tapped, mounting over the locking bolts, which costs about as much as the sight itself.

It looks good enough to try the easy one for about $50. I like B

I like Bro. Jim's little short .30-30 with receiver sight. I know how handy that is. But I can get close and do my own thing with Puffy's old 94.

The .375 is more fun to load anyway. Wonder why no one has ever "improved" the .375 Win. since it's so long tapered? I bet you could get a 15-20% increase in powder capacity. Probably limited in lever guns, not that many out there, it might be a good rechamber for S.S. But then you could just do what I did and go full .378 GNR. But there is something to be said for the easy and cheap .30-30 brass.

African Classic and it has the Skinner sight.Mark wanted a 22" barrel with full length mag tube, Lion and cape Buff engraving. Full action job and slicking up.

The Skinner sights are not seen as much just yet. I like them as they are a bit like the XO Ghost sights in operation. Those work too, where they fit.

If there was ever a .375 Winchester improved I would certainly go for that. I cast for mine and it shoots great. I bought mine in a pawn shop, I didn't pay a lot for it, but then again it has issues - none that affect function or accuracy.

swivel hole and removed the front band swivel. Puffy worked at a Gunshop in CA and I'm sure they got it in on trade. One scratch on the buttstock but the checkering is clean, blue is good. Trigger and action are typical factory Winchester, to say very mediocre. But it weighs a pound and a half less than a Marlin 1895, don't hit as hard but shoots flatter too. It's a good one to keep around, it has some sentimental value to me.

In my view it's the best 94 they ever put out. You know they modified the frame for Angle Eject and scope mounting, added a tang safety (YUCK) and put out a 7x30, .307, .356, and .444 calibers. They even did a late run of .25-35 and .38-55 (that I'm sure was a .375 bore).
