It is likely easier to make that way. I've lived with it most my life. Nickel Colts and Stainless S&W, Stls. Walthers and about any other nickel or chrome gun.
$3500, wow, got to want it bad. With originals running around $2500 that's a tough call. It makes a Grizzly Win Mag an absolute steal! Only 16 parts on a Grizzly differ from a standard 1911 if I remember right. I used a standard 1911 18# spring and Commander match bushing in mine. Shot fantastic, never should have sold it. I never forgave it for throwing my 50 cents each brass in the bushes every time I shot it.
