The 251 Falcon will be another build...

Both the 25-20 and Gary's 251 Falcon deserve their own builds.

The 25-20 will have an auxiliary cylinder in the 250 GNR. The ability to seat the bullets farther out will allow a bit more powder to be used. Those two factors and 1.5" longer barrel will put the 250 GNR near original factory 25-20 ballistics.

It will have a faster twist too. I asked Gary to build this one with a fast 1 in 10" twist.

I see lots of fun and learning in my future...

That does sound like a lot of fun.

My present 250 GNR has a 1 in 14" twist (I think)...

So it'll be interesting to see how the two perform side by side.

It's pretty difficult to over stabilize a bullet and the sedate velocity certainly won't cause a bullet to shed its jacket.

So much uncharted territory to explore.

Gary's 25s are way past due in the revolver world. Glad somebody finally done it in a package that doesn't weigh a ton.

I shot my first deer with a 25-20, and most

Of my favorite rifles have been 25 cal. In a revolver Gary’s 25’s seem like they would be a lot of fun. I really like reading yours and others posts on all the trail guns since I doubt I’ll ever be able to afford one.

the current gun we are working on has a 10 twist barrel and

works fine with the ammo we had. It all depends upon bullet weight and speed. Another gun we are working on in 250 GNR with a 10 twist barrel key holes every round. So that one will have to be a 14 twist.

What is the 251 falcon parent case

the 25-20 on the left,
251 Falcon on the right,
but the reamer was made off specs. I asked for a .175 length neck. We got a .086.
So the reamer has been sent back and will be re-cut to a .175 length neck or somewhere in that area.
So the neck will be about double what is shown in the pic. Even with the longer neck the total case capacity will be considerably more than the parent 25-20 case.

Can the old Marlin 94 in 25-20 be rechambered to

The 251 Falcon, or will the pressure be to high?

that would work fine. The pressure curve is a soft one

that would not harm any rifle.
