will rust, especially if you get blood on them. They are great to sharpen and hold an edge very well, but will rust or stain, so keep them wiped down and maybe a light film of oil on them.

wax on mine. No rusting or discoloration at all. When you use the knife be sure and clean it thoroughly and rewax it. I use it now on all my knives and axes. Any steel that is high carbon content will benefit from usage of this wax polish. It was developed in England to preserve all of the antiquities that they have in their museums.

She used it to skin a Deer or Elk and just wiped it off and didn’t clean it after she caught back from the hunt. A while later she brought it to me in tears, so I buffed it out with no problem, since it hadn’t been setting very long. I’m kinda fanatic about keeping my knifes sharp, clean, sharp, and sharp and clean, but never thought about warning her.
