Hey Gary
Are you planning to hunt Cape Buffalo this trip?
I hope to. That is the reason for all the guns coming

about having a long talk with a Cape Buffalo. They are wild and bad tempered, sorta like your mother-in-law. So we have to remember on any Cape Buffalo hunt, it all boils down to this...either you are going to die, or he is. I would prefer it be him. But he and his buddies are there waiting for us.

The bull in the first pic closest on the right and the other 2 bulls in the last pics as they stand? Where do I bust them so they don’t grind me into the ground?
on any of them, point of shoulder. On the Cape you have to

break him down first and then kill him. If you can break that front shoulder first hopefully some of the bone splinters will either go into the lungs or possibly even the heart although the point of shoulder is a bit high for a heart shot. But they can't run as fast on 3 legs. John told me he wants the first shot a solid and the fast second shot (as fast as I can be with a single shot) a soft point. I wanted to try one with my 410 GNR but John said they were too wild and mean to take a chance, so the 450 GNR comes into play with the 500 grain solid. The second shot the 350 grain soft point. All this is conjecture as I might not even be able to get up on one if they are as wild as he says. We will see.

the 450 GNR next to a 45-70 for size comparison..

ammo. I use their 500 grain solid and their 350 grain soft point. I consider the Hornady bullets the best for something serious like Cape Buffalo. The DGS is Dangerous Game Solid. Steve Hornady has been a good friend for a lot of years and I trust him to deliver the best bullet I can find.

Kase’s Ultimate 10 is sold. So that’s a horn or hoof?
