Lugers on display with about 40 other custom guns. An older fellow walked up and I thought I was seeing a ghost. He was Ed Sullivan's brother, maybe twin brother, I don't remember, but he was like a twin to Ed. he told me who he was and wanted to buy the Luger. That Luger's serial number was REEDER-1 and I had wanted to keep it. I told him it was just for show. He said "well if you were to sell it, what would you take for it?" Again I told him I didn't plan on selling it but if I did it would be around $3500. he said OK, just wondering. Late that day he walked back up to my table and laid down a big wad of $100 bills. He smiled and said "there is your $3500, give me my gun". I had quoted him a price and couldn't back down on it, so I walked over to the table where they did the paperwork, shook his hand and told him to enjoy it.

A couple of years later I was down to my last Luger, this one serial number GNR-1 if I remember right. On this one Bill Firman did pretty much the same thing and ended up buying it. I think that is the one in the picture here. So I ended up with none of the 100 guns. No big deal. They were built to sell, but it would have been nice to keep one of them.
