Did you ever buy a gun on impulse?

Well. I did in a way. Last week I stopped by a new gun shop in the Quiet Corner of Connecticut and for some reason spotted a Ruger Mk4 Lightweight.

I handled, fondled and coon fingered it for a while and then thought about it.

Today after dropping off some donations I decided to stop by the new purveyor of fine arms in my neck of the woods and dropped the happy card down. Of course I had to fondle and coon finger it more.

It is kind of a neat 22 LR autopistol. I have always liked the concept of the lightweight Ruger and see it as a great field gun. It has a nice finish and I intend to do some shooting tomorrow around noon time.

So. Does anyone here have any experience with the Ruger Mk 3 or 4 lightweight? Thanks

had my ass beat, and done a gazillion other things on impulse but hardly much ever bought a gun on impulse, except for a few times...a year. but the Ruger 22s are great guns. I personally like them heavier and scoped but they are great little totin' pistols. I have a weak spot for 22 caliber pistols and revolvers. [image]

Ruger Super Redhawk Toklat .454 Casull. I walked into the gun department, saw it in the case, asked to see it and wondered just what the hell I was ever going to use it for. Didn't matter, walked out with it. In the back of my mind it was a gun I was going to flip to someone in Alaska who needs a "bear gun". Got the gun home, shot it a time or two and now it's one I can't get rid of.
