I have some .355 GNR dies in the wrap I need to swap
for .280 GNR for Doug. I loaded up his African rounds with 160 gr. Nosler Accu-bonds. Finally settled on IMR4895 which I never loaded that heavy a bullet with it. Looking at a Hodgdon manual I thought we'd try a starting load for the .280 Ackley Improved. We will need to test them and fit every cartridge in the chamber for proof.
I resorted to some "other" 7mm ctg. dies to neck size the formed brass after trimming to square the mouths. Seating the bullet is not really an issue. They look good.
I did find we had several brass with split necks. Probably more relative to the brass being old or stored in varied temps. For such a important trip you want each ctg. a little jewel.
