The Glock 19 is just a new tool in the toolbox.
It's not like the Navy says "Turn in your current sidearm and we will give of this new Glock."
Within reason, the guys carry pretty much what they want as their sidearm (some even personally purchased).
Still plenty of 1911s, Sigs, Berettas, HKs, and even a couple Browning Hi-powers that I know are still in service.
The SEALS have their own armorers and spare parts for lots of different firearms.
go with whichever one you shoot best and which

I think the 19 works best for the majority of shooters.

The new 2.0 Compact sure does feel nice though. I'd rent or borrow both and go with whichever one you like shooting the best.
