I was at a gun shop when I spotted a TC Contender with a Super 14 barrel in 35 Remington. The frame has the older style push button selector rather than the little switch on top of the frame.

It is going for 350. Good deal or no? Thanks

I wouldn't blink an eye...

Sure barrel is a deal at $150, so $200 in the chassis, deal.

Maybe a ride back down there is warranted?

I wonder what the 35 Rem could be rechambered to ?

350 GNR?

I bet that barrel on G2 frame would be hell on wheels.

Honestly I'd try the .355 GNR on the .30-30

It would have an increase over the .35 Remington, a fantastic strong and inexpensive case. SOme of the .35 cal. TC's have goofy throating and a re-chamber fixes that. I have a 8-3/8" old TC .357 Mag. tube with external choke. I rechambered it to .357 Maximum myself. It now shoots .38 or .357 wonderfully too (unlike a factory TC Maximum barrel).

The .350 GNR would be best for the Encore to get the most out of it. The .355 GNR would be much more efficient and well suited to the Contender chassis. NO headspace issues and a nice ample rim.

Would be a done deal here!
