led ro believe that the AK-47 would use the same round as the M-16? I was talking to a vet today and he informed me that they did. I did not get into an argument with him over it, but I am pretty sure that you can’t use 5.56 in a 7.62 bore. Just wondering, as I was not there. Thank y’all for your service.

That's a negative

In the US Army 1969 to 1978. Only compatible rounds in different weapons thatI recall were nato designated 7.62 and not 5.56. My step father served in the pacific in WW II and said the Japanese bolt actions could fire our 30-06 tounds but the Japanese round would not chamber in our Garand or bolt actions.

Thank you

And shot it. There were several untrue rumors going around about our guns and ammo, but I never heard anything like that. I was surprised at how little most of the guys knew about guns (OK... weapons), but they soon learned how to shoot them well.

Nope. Apples and oranges. AK is a spray & pray...
