Doug dropped $4k on a new African rifle kit and he's borrowing a $600 .300 mag (not counting the scope) to spank his critters?! I can't wait to hear this story. My mind is racing, did it break? No mention of the handgun at all, was that a total wash? Did my ammo fail?

But, I'm as stubborn as the come. I came with a 9.3x74R, 356 GNR and my beloved 25-20.
They've all performed perfectly.

often showed up via flying with no gun. He'd borrow one, ask for a few "bullets" and if it was sighted in or not. Then off he'd go happy as a clam. I only saw this plan fail him once.

Long or short a .300 gets it done.
They must have a good platform, heavy, easy to shoot, good glass with dots to tell guys how to point. I can see how they want to push it off on everyone. Personal equipment they don't have a clue about. Makes their jobs lots easier.
For me if you can't use your own stuff why go at all.

that was hit so hard I thought it was a ghost cause it disappeared! Went flying from the impact I guess.... Squared 6’2” and weighed 220. Not my biggest but a great hunt for a great animal!
