And really like it. Very lightweight stainless/walnut version.

It interests me more than it should. I love the #1s in the old classic rounds.

Could be perfected with 30GNR conversion?

But, the old 30-30 loaded to modern pressures with spitzers is no slouch.

40 yrs ago I would have laughed at myself

For even thinking about a single shot 30-30. Then we were always looking for a saddle gun with more velocity and range than the 30-30. My ideas have changed a lot over the years, I love single shots and even a lot of those old cartridges. I must be getting old.

Keep in mind I took my 25-20 to Africa...

I love it. I really like one shot rifles and black powder rifles and hand guns.
I had bought a few from Gary? And other Misfits. Not anything, just giving my two cents! Great to hear you had a fantastic trip. Pete

Finally got to shoot the (new to me) 1996 Bill Wiseman 300 Win Mag. I settled on a load (thanks for the input misfits)
using a 168g SPBT at 3300 fps. This gun is Thors hammer. You can have all your WSM.WSSM.STW,Short Mag, necked down 30s, this old war horse can run with the best of them.

Hoping to get one of them soon.

I missed out when they released the blued one a couple years back. It will be a very attractive and portable woods rifle. Plan to use the Hornady lever gun bullets in it SPX, TLX??? whatever they call them. Just picked up the RSI Stainless in 257 Roberts.

RSI in .257R, sounds like a winner to me
