a revolver barrel? We all do it goofy anyway. It SHOULD be from the back of the cylinder forward, same as a single shot or rifle barrel. Back of the chamber forward.
Agreed. although with those people in SA customs

not sure 'logic' is in their vocabulary.
In truth it's not worth the risk, and I'm sure

from what I've seen myself and heard stories about there are inconsistencies in training and methods. I wrote with magic markers on my case "seal corners before latching" arrows and all. Well a 90 lb. lady (I think it was a female anyway) popped open my case and could not get it latched back up. She wanded it for explosives. Heck I should have set the things off with all the nitrocellulose soaked in my person and clothes. So much for explosives sniffing. She screeched at be when I offered to help her. I wanted to say "you stupid skinny little bitch, how did you even find your way to work today by yourself?!". But I did not.
One bunch told me I had to have TSA locks and another told me NO, I couldn't. No continuity at all. If TSA and Disney would hire Southern Hillbilly's exclusively the world would be a much better place. "Whoo wee, ya'll come on down right here, I'll fix you right up" "Man look at that, what range can you hit with that?!, What you goin' off huntin'".... A bit of personal empathy, kindness, and treating others as you'd like to be treated, even the a-holes sweeten up some.
Scotty, you really should . . .

their customs. And then again when you leave they check to make sure you are taking the guns home with you. These days the flying is no big deal. On the last trip I watched 2 or 3 movies on the screen in the back of the seat in front of me, and then slept the rest of the way. The only hassle these days is the TSA people that are arrogant idiots.
you got me. They have no idea what a red dot is

They never looked at our revolvers to see if they had a scope. They looked at the serial number and that's it. But with my luck they would look at the red dot.
Personally I think the red dot is the wrong way to go in Africa. In a lot of cases you need to be able to pick a hole thru the brush and a red dot won't do that. Plus quite often your shots will be 75 to 100 yards off and again a red dot is not the way to go for that. Again personally I wouldn't take a red dot to Africa.
Agreed. Figure your average shot is 100 yards
