Reeder Custom Guns - Doug will like this... real hillbilly gun.

I traded for this piece today. Never had one of my own, borrowed a Model 6 once for a little while. They Boyt wood is nice but about an inch too long for me. I'm supposed to get the original wood but we'll see. Not sure why it was swapped in the first place. It is in .30-06. I'll check the firing pin!

Not sure how long I can keep it but I think it will make a little even after I play with it. Will be great fun to shoot my cast bullet/2400 powder loads.

Don’t know why, they are just cool. Fast like a lever gun and shoot 30-06 sized cartridges. They are smooooth. Barrels free floating too!

You could bore it out to 338-06 or 35 Whelen :)

They have made this gun in .35 Rem from day one. It is not a very heavy barrel though. I'd sure not want to go bigger. The .338 sounds more intriguing to me but the 06' with a 200/220 gr. isn't exactly a popgun. Modern bullets give it quite a boost just like the 9mm has enjoyed.

For 99% of anything I would ever do but need isn’t always the highest thing on the list. My first choice would actually be one in .280.

I think the .35 is the same barrel profile

Certainly don’t “need” more than the 06

There are factory built 35 Whelen 7600 pumps
