Basically a standard length non-belted magnum. I had a .376 Steyr based upon the ctg. Pretty thumpy! At the time I was focused on the platform, but the round seemed OK.

When you make your own from scratch popularity has little bearing, being a production number is gravy. It's the 9.3X62 with about 400 fps added and only 2mm longer case. It's German right?

Dragunov sniper rifles in that caliber and use a hefty FMJ bullet to poke through light armor. My interest is how slick a case it is, but the pressures of the German stuff always seemed high to me. Even military 8X57 is HOT stuff.
If the 6.5 nuts out there ever hear about the 6.5X64 won't their heads just spin.

Being an Enlish country. It was infuenced by the 9.5x57 which was Austrian.
Think the historians still disagree if that was originated by Mannlicher or Wesley-Richards.

But bought a left hand stainless 375 Ruger for a price I could not pass up. $620 out the door at my LGS.
Maybe one day I’ll find the 9.3x64 and 376 Steyr in left hand that I can afford

My 'smith out here in Australia has just finished my custom X64, based on (Yup) a Ruger No 1. Pictures once I get my itching hands on it. He really went to town on the checkering, close to 90% on forend and grip, charcoal blued, straight-grained walnut stock.
