well made as the other Bulldogs. The Bulldog, like the other Charter Arms are not meant for everyday shooting. They are meant for carrying and shooting a little. They will do well for you as long as you stay away from 44 magnum level loads. Charter Arms has suffered from a lot of wannabe gunsmith and wannabe experts bashing them on the internet. We have sold them for 35 years or more and as far as I know we have never got one back with problems. If I carried a revolver for self defense I wouldn't have a problem carrying a Bulldog.
