You guys know I like to take pictures of shooting, loading, animals and such. I bought a Nikon (by trading some scopes around) B500 digital point and shoot camera. It has a 40X (80X digital) zoom with stabilization. It's only a 16G pixel, couple years back model, but it was NIB at about 25 cents on the original dollar too.
Hopefully mo-betta pictures and video clips.
Sounds great, good price too.

would be lost on me so I have to balance the auto functions and features to what I really need to do what I want. This model camera was rated very highly in 2016 so a little dated. But ignorance is bliss in large so I'm sure it will fit my needs and be a big boost in possibilities. Gary actually helped me get a better mindset to shoot everything while you can. Many times the photos are the only objects to truly rekindle a wonderful and memorable experience.
Modern digital photography even on late cell phones is a great blessing for sport. Remember the old Kodak Brownie, Polaroids, 110 cameras? Getting film developed? This new stuff is neat. Might as well take advantage of it.
Point & Shoot? No, no, you got a lot more...

16Gb is more than you'll probably ever need unless you plan on printing poster size pics.
Looks like the lens is Nikkor ED, Extra Low Dispersion glass, Nikon's top of the line.
Digital 2x zoom will not be as clear / sharp as the manual 40x, but play with it, you can't break it, just be sure to use the fastest memory card you can find.

I had an old one that required standard "SD", then they have SD-HD, and SD-HC. The faster the card the faster responding the camera can be? I saw on the youtube reviews guys taking video of birds at 200 meters, full view! The image stabilization at that level is taxed but a mono or tripod will fix that. Should be great for critters.
The camera is 16 Mega-pixel and comes with a 16 GB card in the box. I'll get a High Compression 64 GB card.
Right, 16 MP not GB. ....

It's been a few years since I bought memory cards, mine are SanDisk Extreme III, SD HC. Try Googling something like Best Memory Card for high speed photography and that should have current best. One thing I do remember was the experts' advice against using very high capacity cards because they jam too much data and that could reduce picture quality. They recommended using several smaller capacity cards instead.
Camera probably has a user selectable setting for the quality of pictures you want to take. Higher quality will be sharper but will use up more memory so you'll have fewer pictures on the card. I always set mine on highest quality. Of course, that also means that you can't really email those pictures because email programs often have size limitations, unless you reduce them in size on your computer before emailing.

very high capacity cards was that they were more likely to fail because they were jamming too much data, and then all pictures are lost. Things may have changed with newer technology.

storage gets you into a pattern where you are reluctant to save or back it up. I'd prefer smaller cards unless I planned for events to run some HD video. It does that too.
