Reeder Custom Guns - 240 weatherby varmint load

Just started reloading for the 240 weatherby looking at trying the 65gr v max (woodchuck medicine) noticed Hornady lists H4895 and know it work's good in 243 and 6 mm. but wonder if it would be a good choice in big case 240 (I know some weatherby data is pretty fierce and this is going to be a hot weather hunting load) so don't want any high pressure problems a anybody got any experience with this style load in 90-100 degree temps. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

a 240 and 224 Weatherby XPs). My gun liked 46 grains of Rel. 15 and 50 grains of H414. There was no V Max back then but for 70 grain HPBT bullets so it should be fine for the 65s.

to .240 Wby. The 6mm ackley is basically a blown out 7X57 and the Wby is a .30-06 necked to 6mm and a belt on the case. I really like H4895, good predictable, progressive propellant. Plenty slow enough for that case to give good performance. Just start low and work your way up.

Most Weatherbys have lots of freebore ahead of the chamber before the rifling is engaged. This allows for a serious charge that other rifles could not handle. The bullet can move forward a good bit and effectually gain capacity and lower pressure otherwise. The box of ammo says not to shoot in guns other than Weatherby and that is why. You will be able to work up a good hot load if it's factory Weatherby, if not just proceed like any other working the load up.

I've seen a few people online with it in encore barrels and always thought it probably was pretty hot for the encore action maybe it's a download job but was curious how it did in a short barrel?
WB: yes it's a factory mark V 26" so it's got the weatherby chamber (but it's from the early 90's when weatherby was still proprietary.

14" barrel on them so I gt decent powder burn. The Weatherby cartridges are too hot for the Encore.
