in the last month or so, taken a huge price increase. We are trying to switch more to Fed Ex but they too have hiked their prices. so if you get a box with what you consider a higher shipping price than normal, it is because of the new prices hikes. We are trying to work around them but with firearms that is hard to do. Our shipping charges each month run around $2000 each for Fed Ex and for UPS and it looks like those prices are going up considerably. We are looking for an alternative shipping company but so far nothing reliable. One of our regulars recently shipped a revolver to us from Dallas and they charged him $189 for the shipping. So we are looking but so far we have found no alternative that is OK'd by the Feds.

can slam gun dealers. UPS and Fed Ex have always been anti gun. That was why the put the over night for handguns crap in the first place.

Just "metal tooling parts". They do have a right to open any box. If it violates their internal policies they can call you and refuse to ship but that is all. No law against shipping to a FFL, Licensed Gunsmith, or manufacturer. AND they can ship back YOUR gun to YOUR original ship from address. Right to your door. That's the Federal law.

ATF requires you to ship to the address on the FFL but you do not have to list the name literally to expose valuables inside the box. I usually list "The P. Parlor" or "Reeder Custom". This gets the message to the delivery guy who is looking at other stuff anyway. "The G. Exchange" for The Gun Exchange etc.

Less likely a shipping employee will risk busing into a package to steal it.

Being basically a "commercial" shipper GNR is sort of screwed, the origin is obvious. Me bellying up to the bar I might be shipping Granny's knitting needles or bolts and screws who knows. I can get the best rate and they want me to hopefully come back. I'm not captive like GNR on shipping.

I shipped a recurve bow to Heidelberg Germany for $27.50 UPS. The UPS outlet center told me I could not ship it at all. I went to the local USPS and filled out a form, listed it as a $10 gift for customs and there it went.

GNR needs to revisit the old USPS flat Rate box program. Being a FFL dealer there may be a form or two but they will ship firearms for him cheaper than UPS. Talk directly to the local Postmaster! I would NOT suggest that as an individual.

$25 for any package from a gun shop, and that is a minimum, plus they now have a oversize price. We have to measure every package and weigh every package and they add these things in. The average shipping price for any gun is now between $40 and $50. And that is ground. Overnight, which they try to make everyone do for any handgun, is nearer $100 and quite often well over that.

About a 5lb. box, not overly long or thick. Like his gun boxes. I shipped a shotgun the other day UPS to GA, 11 lbs. for $14.07. I guess it depends on where you are, the Zones.

Gary's AZ shipping is always longer (7-days) and more expensive to AZ for some reason. Don't we have a UPS guy Misfit somewhere?

AND I didn't put "shotgun" on the invoice or add $1000 worth of insurance, a rip off anyway. UPS you get $100 insurance free. I go to the local hub, not an outlet contract shipper. THEY will skin you!

you are full of shit. There is no fuggin' way to ship a shotgun for $14 or a handgun for $15. I will be more than happy to show you the shipping charge sheet and they start at $25 minimum from any gun shop before all the add ons. We shipped a bunch of our new gun belts that were on sale recently and the charge to ship them was a flat rate $25.

To a boy I sold it to in Palm Coast, FL. Shipping UPS Ground. I just may be a monkey's Uncle but we will see. I sure hope it's less than $20, that's all I allowed. Sending it to his FFL tomorrow.

It'at least $55 for $800 in coverage when I shipped my Encore and barrel. Prices go up but at least the economy has improved with the current administration! C'est La Vie,
