One will most certainly to to Gary for rechambering to 251 Falcon.
I expect 2600+ fps from a 75 grn VMax with Lil Gun powder.
Will be interesting to try the 85 grn Nosler BT for velocity and expansion.

Basically an improved 25-20. A few have commented that area was already covered by the 256 Win Mag. But, that isnt completely true.
The rim of the 256 Win Mag will not work in New Model Single Six base guns. So Gary designed this one for a fast, powerful Trail Gun cartridge. Clearly, G2s, Encores and lever guns will be perfect houses too.
How does the 251 compare to 256 Falcon?

Shows similar velocities for 75,gr 2449 fps to 2703 fps out of a 13" Encore. Not sure how much more I an expect out of my 18" barrel. Maybe 200-300fps?
More like 150-175 fps

Tables for the Falcon start at 85gr and shows a max velocity of 2962 out of 13" bbl. So I should be able to get 3000 fps from my carbine barrel. Hope to use it on deer and with 115 gr bullets on hogs.
We shot a .32-20 with 120 gr. bullets

and it went over 2200 fps! That's probably only about 15% less than a .30-30 rifle at best, while using less than half the powder. The ability of a suitably modern loaded little round is impressive. It's mostly due to advanced loading techniques (slow magnum pistol powder in the .32/20, rifle pressures too) and the poor showing of the .30-30 case as to efficiency. The .25-35, also on the .30-30 parent case, cannot muster much better with a 120 gr. pill at standard pressures.
Many of the GNR custom cartridges make such a grand showing owing to purposeful case design efficiency.
The affordable chronograph has opened eyes...

That were closed before. Many of the small rounds are useful today. Especially with the cost of powder.
