Very sympathetic to shipping woes
I really think I'd have GNR do a sit down with the local USPS Postmaster and inquire about Flat Rate Priority Boxes. There might be a way to save money if the paperwork could be sorted. That would be my first try anyway.
No one ever needs to copy me doing anything but I wanted to double check and show that I was not just BS'n anyone. I have been shipping UPS for over 30 yrs. from this same location and same material. It has gone up but I think the shipping cost to me as an individual is based more upon the shape/size of the box and the Zone of delivery. I have never seen a rate sheet, I guess that is for commercial business.
I go straight to the UPS depot where the trucks pick up and load. In town there are some store that offer UPS shipping. They also sell boxes, tape, and packing to add to the profits which are marked up beyond the Depot price. I have seen costs double what I typically manage. If I can take an object down and compact the size it not only reduces the chance of damage but costs less to ship.
Just FWIW and to save some face. Maybe it will help some source a better method and save some unnecessary costs.
11 lbs. and I was surprised at the economy too.

This was an odd shaped box and at less than 5 lbs I was charged a 8 lb base rate. East FL too is a different zone.
