Going to give these bullets a try. Cast Performance LBT 250 gr with the clear lube. Loaded nice so we’ll see. Trying a healthy dose of Universal in a Redhawk.
The other day I did a very informal test and shot a stack of phone books with: 250 gr LRNFP .45 Colt std load, 300gr Nosler HP.44 mag, and 210 gr Speer Deepcurl .41 GNR, and a .22LR HP. Next time they should all be solids but interesting anyway.
.45 Colt 2 1/2”
.44 mag 2 3/4”
.41 GNR 3”
.22LR 1 1/4”

See what a 45 LC +P would do.

How far away from books?

The load I used was probably 850fps or so. The ones I loaded today should be @1000 so will let you know on that. I do have some Corbon +p that I should try.

Great, thanks!

I need to do this test with .355 GNR and the .30-30

I really like the Marlin in .355 GNR. It shoots nice and you can tell it packs a lot more than the .30-30 with no increase in recoil. Just shot paper so far.
