Reeder Custom Guns - Ruger SS Single-Six Convertible

About to buy a new one, and I know this has been brought up thru' the years but the
answer escapes... does Ruger size the bore to favor the LR or Mag or some com-
promise dia. in-between?... should you expect good accuracy with one round, and
mediocre with the other?... what seems to happen in 'real-world?'

The convertible i used to own, shot very well with both cylinders/rounds.

.223" ON THEIR MAGNUMS. WHEN THEY WENT CONVERTIBLE THEY COMPROMISED AT .219". I HAVE HAD AND STILL HAVE SEVERAL CONVERTIBLES AND THEY SHOOT WELL WITH BOTH CYLINDERS.

22 mag bullets are sized at 224 alike most of the 22 centerfires, I always understood the bore in the convertables was sized inbetween at 223, hince the reason Gary does the Double Deuce in one or the other. This being said my early 3 screw convertible would still shoot better than I, with both cylinders.

Ruger SS Single-Six Convertible

Single six convertible sized to .22 mag,.224 bore size.

ORIGINALLY RUGER USED .216"ON THEIR .22s AND

22 LR rounds are heeled bullets sized 222 whereas

jthomson, I always like sering that double deuce of yours.
