no. The 356 is based on a 41 mag case and the walls would be

Are there any DA revolvers suitable for conversion to 356 GNR or is it just better suited to the Ruger Blackhawks in 357?

Gary can give the definitive word but I'd go with a Ruger Redhawk. Built like a tank, rock-solid reliable...
there are a few for a 6 shot revolver in 356 GNR

the S&W N frame guns like the model 28, 27, 627 are all perfect with a simple rechamber without going to the heavy weight of the Redhawk. If you can find one of the fairly rare 357 magnum Redhawks of the early 80s that is a perfect choice with a rechamber. In a 5 shot revolver the GP-100 works well as does the S&W L frame 686.
