and trying to decide between the 7 GNR and 30 GNR. Rufus Breckinridge is in Tennessee and not far away from our HHC coming up in October. Maybe we will see him there.

Boy that is a tough one, hard to go wrong though

We ended up with at least one of each. lol I favor the 7mm GNR as I like 7mm bullets and my Boy is delighted with his .30 GNR so he can also shoot Wal-mart .30-30's. I'm glad he thinks on his own.

We both do Ok.

7mm'd cull buck at the Y-O.

His first kill with the .30 GNR, pretty simple devoid of drama or tracking or chasing.

How would it fare in a lever action rifle? Which manufacturer would you do a conversion?
The cost would be less in the 30, yes? The 7 mm flat points, the bullets would be hard to fine unless you cast

we build them both in the Marlin 336. The 30 GNR would

be less expensive as we can use the original 30-30 barrel. The 7 GNR can use the flat point 7mm bullets meant for the 7X30 rifles.

Hard choice

THE SAME "BUY 'EM BOTH"

and when John Taffin says "buy 'em both", you should do it.

Something that the 7 won't in a T/C. In a lever I guess there's a better selection of flat points. The 7GNR kills deer bang flop with 120 grain Sierra's and 139 grain Hornady SST's.
