How does your big "stretch frame" compare to the Ruger version they used on the .357 Maximums?
Gary’s stretch frames are very beefy compare to the ruger

The Hellcat 5 will work with any cartridge the original Hellcat handles. The reason for the different logo is the total reworking of the rear of the frame. Not just grinding or adding steel, but a total reworking of the frame itself. I wanted the taper and angle of the dangle that the #5 gripframe has but to do this required changing the entire back of the frame from below the hammer to the bottom of the gripframe. In other words changing the bear to a cat.
Some may not want that configuration but for those that have large or wide hands it will be a welcome change. For those with smaller hands the standard Hellcat is the way to go. So there is a Hellcat and a Hellcat 5.

I'm aware of what you did to the grip frame on the 'Cat#5. My question was merely with regard to what else you have done to materially alter Ruger's approach with respect to their "Maximum" frame, and the serious work you did on the 'Cat#5 prompted me to ask. I was NOT comparing the 'Cat#5 to either the Ruger Maximum or your stretch frame.
I think the 'Cat#5 should sell quite well for folks with adult-sized hands. It's an interesting approach.
Final question: does your stretch frame accept the Ruger grip frames, or does it take one specific to your frame?
we have 3 different gripframes and all 3 will work with

any Ruger single action revolvers. They will even work with the old model 3 screw guns.
ours is a bit bigger. The 500 S&W and 460 S&W will not

fit in the Ruger maximum frame. our stretch frame is plenty big for them. The frames are also beefier thru the top strap and are a bit stronger. Nothing is idiot proof but our stretch frame handles the bigger cartridges very well.
