I know GNR has some, for identification

I have a Remington Model 95 .41 derringer that seems to be a Type 2 Variation III made sometime around 1889-1910. The Address is unique to the 2 V.III but the Font of the lettering is a little fancier and more on the Victorian side than some with a more blocked Font. The "batch" number seems to be "98" under the barrel and on the frame under the genuine pearl grips. I think the flaking nickel is the original finish. The rifling is weak but present. Values on these jump all over the place and it boils down to how savvy the cat is that wants it and how much they are willing to pay, $200 or upward of $2000 for rare ones.

Just a little bone to throw you dogs and maybe we all learn a little something. I'd love to be able to shoot it and play but it's not really worth the effort and expense. More fun to just look at.

I read the performance of the little gun was weak with a 130 gr. black powder propelled bullet (15 gr. charge?) only running 450 fps. I'm not so sure. I also read a guy tested that and found it closer to 650 fps. The best test I read was a quip Skeeter Skelton (I think, or Askins, Jordon?) who rote they shot two rounds into a telephone pole and the bullet did not penetrate fully into the wood, the heels were sticking out. Still that's pretty tough wood, at least it didn't bounce back. There are many records of folks getting sent to the beyond with altercations and the little Remington, Colt's and such.

With Cartridges over $2-4 each at best it's not a practical shooter but so interesting historical piece. I do not think this one has any cracked hinges either.
