This is one of the very well made U.S.F.A. revolvers. This is the company that bought out all the Colt tooling and made guns better than Colt ever did (in my humble opinion). They are gone now but left behind some fine single action revolvers. This one came in from Pete Biddle for us to color case the frame and do the Black Chromex finish on the rest of the gun. I thought it turned out pretty nice.

You can find "Rodeo" matte blue models for around

$1000 if you search, while the premium models are about twice that, to well beyond $$$$. Depends on the barrel length and caliber. The Reeder upgrade may be a very lucrative way to go!

They are fine well made guns destined to appreciate.

In addition to their finely finished single actions USFA

also offered less expensive versions in satin nickel, matte blue, and full regular blue. Same sixguns; different finish.

I figured he must have had GNR spruce up a more plain

version. Looking at the prices and seeing how hard it is to find one in a specific caliber/barrel length combination it makes lots of sense to find a Rodeo model of your choosing and spend the bucks with Gary to basically "blue print" one to your personal wishes! You'd still be money ahead and get exactly what you wanted.

I know it likely goes against the grain of purists but it's your cheeseburger. Let them eat cake.

the gun was all high polished blue when it came in
