Reeder Custom Guns - Gary, inasmuch as you are a Glock armorer, could you tell me

If changing a Glock 27 from 40 to 9mm requires anything except changing the barrel and magazine? All seems to work well and I just wondered about functionality should I decide to carry it that way. Thank you.

The 40 extractor is set up to extract a wider rim cartridge whereas the 9mm extractor is for the smaller rim of the 9mm. Also you would have to have a specific barrel listed as a 40 to 9mm. The 9mm barrel is thinner than the 40 and would be floppy in the slide. Lone Wolf has 9mm barrels to fit the internal space in the 40 slide.

went to the Glock Armorer school in '88 or '89 and the only guns they had out at the time were the Glock 17 and Glock 18 and we weren't allowed to touch the 18 as it was a European export only at that time, so the 17 was what we learned on. Kase and Colleen went to the Armorer school in '95 and even so there have been a lot of changes since then. Kase was the one that did all the Glock work here and will probably be setting up his own shop in Phoenix to do custom work on the Glocks. So what this boils down to is take my comments with a grain of salt. Things change.
