was more raked to keep your knuckle from getting whacked, firing things like .45/70. The old Contender was rough like that. But swapping to the Pachmayr you are negating that change somewhat. Just worth noting.
I like them on my guns but I also have no issues with the stock TC G2 stuff. The forends are the same, just different grip. TC stuff has plastic internal framing and Pachmayr is aluminum, so it's a few ounces heavier. I do like the swivels as I often sling my hunting handguns for carry. Others don't like them, but you can also use for bi-pods if recoil is not too bad. A hard kicker can rip the swivel stud right out.
