We shot the Nagant revolver today a little

the .32-20 deep seat ammo ran 835 fps / 90 gr. so they were pretty light. Should be 1000-1100 fps. They fire formed funny looking and were hard to extract. I had a little issue with the rims being too thick or maybe the OAL too long. A telescoping firing pin bushing protrudes pushing the cylinder forward against the barrel. Some were too long on some dimension and it would not go full cock. I'm looking into that.

You may remember Roman had another project, a Tokarev. He bought a 9mm Norinco for $100 and wanted it to be a 7.62X25. So we found a barrel, link, and pin. Different mag too, the 9mm had a frame filler in the mag well. The Polish mags didn't like the Chinese tolerances but worked. The ejection port will not eject loaded rounds but does fine with empties.

This evening we found the 86 gr. Military ammo ran 1518 fps from the 4.5" barrel. S&B 85 gr. ran a more sedate 1489 fps! That stuff is hot! The military ammo is steel core bullet too. Too long for the 1911 it would be dandy in a Glock!

The fired case on the right sure looks odd. The base is much larger than a .32 cal. but the necked area slides into what we normall would call the "throat". A Nagant has no "throat" as the FL case fills it. It's an odd bird.
