I was a little kid, can't believe my parents let me watch it! It still haunts me.

I went Black Bear hunting in AK to sort of face my fears. I was accosted by surly Grizzlies several times. Scared the crap out of me, validated all my fears. Plus I drew the short straw and got the nasty mouth old buggered alter boy for a guide. He was really gonna cover me in the alders with that 26" barreled .300 UM and 6X20x scope.

I just knew he was gonna get turned into Bear poop. Cause it wasn't gonna be me! I had my .510 GNR and a .440 GNR with some 400 gr. solids, I was Bear'd up.

I got to hear that "WOOF" sound they make (from about 20'), and experience a "false charge" (10-15 yds). I learned how to make "bear candy" from sugar and a metal coffee can. (however in the stand while hunting might not be a good idea) And I watched a young Grizzly mark his territory by clawing a tree 9' up while peeing all over it. Yep, I stayed clear of that tree, to this very day. Never a dull moment in Bear country from what I can tell.

They said the school kids carried air horns with them while walking and waiting at the bus stop! Sure!
