Reproduce this gun, or at least get close. His choice was 218 Bee where I'd choose a 32-20 WCF.

This project has haunted me for 35 years. I realize its time has passed and there are better options today. But, the pioneers still fascinate me.

I saw Lee Martin refer to it in one of his writings. I was fascinated by it, but could never find a picture of it. Does anyone have a better picture of this gun?

The Larry Kelly and J.D.Jones book about Handgun Hunting. Information is elusive as Matthes was a Government Hunter who killed Cougars.

The gun is a custom Colt in 218 Bee. Rear sight appears to be one of the old short leaf screw adjust Winchester type. Front sight is a long ramp with a 3/8" dovetail bead sight.

Not much else to share.
