Gary, are you familiar with the Excel Accelerator 22WMR. Like to get a 22mag semi auto, but not in the 1911 platform. Thanks Pete
Pete, the gun has been out for several years but I

can't find any info about how or if it works. It is or was made here in Arizona and their rifles have been made for almost 10 years but again I haven't heard anything good or bad about them.
Several companies have tried making a semi auto 22 Magnum thru the years and the Auto Mag 2 was the only one I know of that worked well. But even then there are so many brands of 22 Magnum ammo and varying velocities that you have to try all of them to find one that functions the gun.
I don't know if John Taffin has ever done an article on the gun or not but if so he would know whether it is good or bad.
Kelrec has one . Mine functions well

When they first came out. Very hefty but accuracy is superb. We had some early feeding issues, it's a delayed blow-back action. We sent it back to the factory and it had pretty much the same. Sometimes it would go through a few mags fine then some hang ups. Not a huge deal, a .22 WMR semi-auto is going to do that from what I can tell. I polished all internal parts and my friend now says it's pretty reliable with the ammo it likes, until it has a fit.
It will shoot MOA easily.
