When I was 14 or 15 I traded a cheap knife and $12 for a Beretta M1919 with Waffen stamps or Model 418 as it was later known. My dad paid $6.50 for a box of W-W 50 gr. FMJ when .22 RF was $0.55 per box. It actually was the very first CF handgun I ever owned. (regretfully I later sold it for $85) It took a bit of skill to hold but it was actually accurate at 20 yds. Nobody told me it was for close range. Two years later I owned a .44 SBH and was on my way!
